Frozen out
Article Abstract:
It is common for freezer manufacturers to claim that their models are more energy-efficient than they actually are. There is now strong pressure on manufacturers to improve energy efficiency, especially in the light of the European Commission's minimum energy efficiency standards regulations, due to come into effect in 1999. These regulations will have a particularly negative impact on frost-free freezers, which generally use more electricity than ordinary models. The best freezers include the AEG 1153 GS and the Bosch GSL 1202 GB/02.
