Machines you can rely on
Article Abstract:
The reliablility of 11 major domestic electrical appliances is examined. The worst machines for reliability are washing machines, washer-driers and dishwashers. The results of a survey of tumble driers, colour televisions, videos, washing machines, washer-driers, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, camcorders, CD players, and answering machines are given. Independent repairers are best. Extended guarantees are expensive and often have many limiting exclusions.
