Arthritis is generally thought of as a disease which affects elderly people, but younger people can also fall victim to it too. It can be extremely painful, ruining the daily existence of sufferers. In many cases, a hip replacement becomes necessary. The new hip joint will last 15-20 years, and a younger person may therefore need to have it replaced again at a later stage.
