There are many multifunctional office machines available on the market, with prices ranging from 649 pounds sterling to over 27,000 pounds sterling. A good mid-range machine is the Ricoh MV310, priced at 1,999 pounds sterling. The unit incorporates a fax, printer, copier and scanner and has a wide range of functions. It is recommended for small workgroups. Other multifunction equipment is evaluated.

The new ALPS MD-500 colour micro-dry printer, priced at 685 pounds sterling, has a colour print speed of 3-5 mpp and a resolution of 1,200x2,400 dpi. The WP-based machine can input and output 100 sheets and there is an option to print photographs using a photo cartridge. The MD-1000, also from ALPS, is priced at 254 pounds sterling and is a good, low-end standalone micro-dry printer.
