Risky business
Article Abstract:
The cost of car insurance can vary greatly in the UK. Direct insurers, which underwrite their own policies and sell them directly by telephone, can offer very good deals. However, they target specific customer groups, and can charge very high premiums for customers outside these groups. It is important to contact a range of insurers before accepting a quote and to obtain quotations in writing before agreeing to take out a policy.

Jacking up the costs
Article Abstract:
Advice on minimizing the cost of car insurance is presented. It is wise to obtain several quotes each year, rather than simply renewing with your existing insurer. If possible, keep the car in a garage or on a driveway overnight instead of on the street.
