Who you gonna call?
Article Abstract:
Many consumers in the UK are very wary about calling someone in to repair a household appliance, as they fear that they may be overcharged or that the work will not be satisfactory. However, if the appliance is not under guarantee and the consumer is not a member of a repair helpline, then it will be necessary to find a repairer. Recent research indicates that independent repairers tend to offer better value for money than repairers operating for retailers or appliance manufacturers.
