Along-strike Acadian structural variations in the Quebec Appalachians: consequence of a collision along an irregular margin
Article Abstract:
The Quebec Appalachians were formed during two major mountain building periods, one in the middle to late Ordovician Taconian period and the other in the Middle Devonian Acadian period. Structural analysis of rocks from these periods the presence of strike-slip tectonics in the Gaspe peninsula, and thrust or dip-slip tectonics in southern Quebec Acadian deformational regimes. Acadian structural variations within the Quebec Appalachians are may be to the continental collision of Gondwana along the irregular Laurentian margin and accreted Taconian terranes.

Tectonic evolution of the Superior Boundary Zone from coincident seismic reflection and magnetotelluric profiles
Article Abstract:
Regional seismic reflection data from the Superior Boundary Zone (SBZ) in 1991 was reprocessed and migrated in a way that preserves steeply dipping reflections in the area of the SBZ. Regional and high-resolution seismic reflection data from a second traverse over the SBZ are presented, in an effort to reconcile conflicting views of the SBZ. The nature of the SBZ is shown to have changed dramatically over its convergent margin history.
