Carbonate-bearing mantle peridotite xenoliths from Spitsbergen: phase relationships, mineral compositions and trace-element residence
Article Abstract:
The carbonates present in the mantle peridotite xenoliths from Spitsbergen precipitated from carbonate melts that later moved to the surface to form the xenoliths. The melts reacted with the host lherzolites to form carbonate minerals with different compositions and fine-grained regions with wehrlitic assemblages. The carbonates have a low Na content and high-Mg numbers. They range from Mg-containing calcite to dolomite. The carbonates are present with (Al,Cr,Ti)-rich clinopyroxene and (Ca,Mg)-rich olivine.

Feldspar-bearing lherzolite xenoliths in alkali basalts from Hamar-Daban, southern Baikal region, Russia
Article Abstract:
The lherzolite xenoliths in the alkali basalts from Hamar-Daban, southern Baikal region, Russia, are anhydrous with foliated fabrics. They have spongy rims around clinopyroxene and contain feldspar. Most of the xenoliths are fertile, and rich in alkali and clinopyroxene. The temperature range is 950-1010 degrees Celsius. The infiltration of an alkali-rich, water-poor fluid into spinel peridotites causes the unique features of the xenoliths.

Spinel peridotite xenoliths from the Atsagin-Dush volcano, Dariganga lava plateau, Mongolia: a record of partial melting and cryptic metasomatism in the upper mantle
Article Abstract:
The Atsagin-Dush volcano in Mongolia yielded spinel peridotite xenoliths ranging from lherzolites to clinopyroxene (cpx)-bearing harzburgites. An analysis of 15 peridotite xenoliths reveals that 13 of the xenoliths have whole-rock Sr isotope compositions and O isotope composition of all minerals. Trace element composition and Sr-Nd isotope compositions were also discovered in 11 clinopyroxene and melt pockets.
