Developmental models and polygenic characters
Article Abstract:
Nonlinear development models of pattern formation are effective in explaining the development of mediates between the genetic and phenotypic levels of evolution. These development models are integrated into population genetics by using development parameters as if they were controlled by single genes. Changes in allele frequencies of the selected genes are then modeled.

Ectotherms, temperature, and trade-offs: size and number of eggs in a carabid beetle
Article Abstract:
Research on Notiophilus biguttatus F., a carabid beetle, is presented, focusing on total egg mass allocation to number and size. Eggs were generally found to decrease in size but increase in number with a continuous rising temperature; however, phenotypic variation may mask possible trade-offs between number and size of eggs in carabid reproductive effort.

Comparative phylogeography of mesoamerican highland rodents: concerted versus independent response to past climatic fluctuations
Article Abstract:
Research on rodents in the mid-American region shows that while codistributed taxa share a biogeographical history more common than that predicted by the independent-response theory, they have not responded in lock-step format to past fluctuations in climate as forecast by the concerted-response theory.
