Discussion on was Scotland a Vendian RRR junction?
Article Abstract:
N.J. Soper's model on Dalradian deposition in the Scottish Highlands does not discuss how deformation together with greenschist facies metamorphism and granite emplacement can occur in the Dalradian block on a Laurentian passive margin. Soper, however, points out that the purpose of his study was to show that the idea of end-Proterozoic orogeny does not agree with the upper Dalradian stratigraphy which shows the opening of an ocean. This problem cannot be resolved by placing the Dalradian block somewhere else during deposition in the Vendian junction.

Discussion on the Inishkea Division of northwest Mayo: Dalradian cover rathen than pre-Caledonian basement (Ireland)
Article Abstract:
It was proposed that the Inishkea Division in the northwest Mayo metapmorphic inlier is included in the Dalradian Supergroup. The results were based on previous studies on the geological subdivision of the Caledonian rocks in the inlier as well as studies on isotopic dating regarding the pre-Caledonian tectothermal history of the Annagh Division gneisses. However, there were no proofs that the Inishkea Division was deposited and deformed before the deposition fo the Grampian Group.

Discussion on metamorphism and cooling of the NE Dalradian and U-Pb and Rb-Sr geochronology of magmatism and metamorphism in the Dalradian of Connemara, western Ireland
Article Abstract:
Comments on two papers dealing with Caledonian geology are presented. Dempster, et al.'s conclusions are not very robust as their sampling method is deficient in terms of comprehensiveness. Their conclusions are furthermore contrary to established stratigraphic evidence. Cliff, et al., on the other hand, come out with observations that corroborate previous research on the subject.
