Erosional control on the geometry and kinematics of thrust belt development in the central Andes
Article Abstract:
The hypothesis that the change in orogen width and variations in thrust belt geometry and kinematics in the central Andes are controlled by long-term erosional processes, is examined. A progressive eastward migration of thrusting in the thrust belt south of the bend, is interpreted to be due to long-term critical thrust-wedge conditions resulting from extremely low rates of denudation since mid-Miocene.

Pretectonic and posttectonic emplacements of the granitoids in the south central Okchon belt, South Korea: implications for the timing of strike-slip shearing and thrusting
Article Abstract:
It has been possible to develop a new tectonic model in which the main accretion of South Korean tectonic blocks was finished during the Middle Triassic Songrim orogeny with a north-east to north-north-east vergent thrust tectonics. It is suggested that the right lateral Cheongsan shear zone is a significant boundary between the Okchon zone and the Yongnam massif with Paleozoic cover rocks.

Paleomagnetic evidence for rapid vertical-axis rotations during thrusting in an active collision zone, northeastern Papua New Guinea
Article Abstract:
A paleomagnetic study of thrust sheets of the fold and thrust belt north of the Ramu-Markham Fault Zone (RMFZ) suggests that rapid vertical-axis rotations were linked to tectonic transport of thrust units. The actual rotation rate is therefore likely to be several times higher than the calculated minimum rate.
