The distribution, geometry and kinematic significance of Caledonian buckle folds in the western moine nappe, northwestern Scotland
Article Abstract:
Systems of ductile thrusts and folds were formed within orogenic belts in Moine Nappe of Sutherland, Scotland, which developed during WNW-directed Caledonian displacements in amphibolite facies conditions. Large areas of mylonite contain large amounts of small-scale folds which occur because of temporary flow disturbances. The generations of these folds can be isolated and separated by their geometry. The spaces between the kilometer-scale buckle folds in lower strain regions help in determining the relationship with displacements on particular underlying thrusts.

Geochemistry of the start complex greenschists: rhenohercynian MORB?
Article Abstract:
Mineralogically homogeneous minerals but texturally heterogeneous actinolite-epidote-albite assemblage retrogressed variants containing chlorite, muscovite, carbonate sphere and oxidized opaque minerals constitute the meta-igneous greenschists of the Start Complex, South Devon. The greenschists are relatively primitive tholeiites that can be compared to modern basalts from normal spreading ridge segments (N-MORB).

A reappraisal of the Sibson-Scholz fault zone model: The nature of the frictional to viscous ('brittle-ductile') transition along a long-lived, crustal-scale fault, Outer Hebrides, Scotland
Article Abstract:
Research analysing the the observational and practical data in support of the theoretical studies and the experiments explaining the frictional to viscous process of transition in the crustal-scale fault of Outer Hebrides, in Scoltland, is presented.
