Slow late Paleozoic exhumation in the Presidential Range of New Hampshire as determined by the 40Ar/39Ar relief method: comment and reply
Article Abstract:
The data derived from Eusden and Lux's use of 40Ar/39Ar thermochronology for estimating rates of exhumation can be interpreted differently. While the authors assume a common closure temperature, they do not take into account that closure temperatures can be affected by compositional variations among samples. Thus, a common closure temperature must first be established by seeking out dissimilarities within the sample population.

Black giants anorthosite, New Zealand: a paleozoic analogue of Archean stratiform anorthosites and implications for the formation of Archean high-grade gneiss terranes
Article Abstract:
A Black Giants anorthosite is composed of incomplete and partially metamorphosed layered intrusion of anorthosite, gabbroic anorthosite and amphibolite. An anorthosite complex is found in Fiordland, New Zealand. These minerals bear lithologic and compositional resemblances to their Archean counterparts. The New Zealand anorthosite complex is a result of the convergence of tectonic plates along the Pacific margin of Gondwana.
