Metamorphic evolution and geochemistry of kyanite eclogites in central Rhodope, northern Greece
Article Abstract:
The overprinted kyanite eclogites in central Rhodope, northern Greece, display multi-stage mineral layers and mineral assemblages that have been formed by exhumation. The initial high-pressure assemblage during exhumation was garnet, omphacite, kyanite, zoisite, phengite, rutile and quartz. High-temperature overprinting produced corundum, sapphirine, Fe-Mg-spinel and hogbomite. The metamorphic temperature of the sapphirine-bearing kyanite eclogites in the Thermes area is the highest in the Rhodope zone.

Simulated garnet-clinopyroxene geothermometry of eclogites
Article Abstract:
It was shown that the temperature determined from the rim compositions of coexisting garnet and clinopyroxene grains through Fe-MG thermometry differ significantly from that off the metamorphic climate in the eclogite facies because of retrogressive exchange by volume diffusion. The extent of the bias correlated with a number of factors. These include the peak temperature, the cooling rate, the clinopyroxene/garnet volume ratio, the median grain size, and the grain size distribution oft he minerals.

Zoning and recrystallization of phengitic micas: implications for metamorphic equilibration
Article Abstract:
Phengitic micas from the Scottish Dalradian featured observable chemical variations characterized in terms of muscovite-celadonite and muscovite-paragonite substitutions and ferrous-magnesium celadonite transfer. Furthermore, examinations of other samples revealed that the white micas underwent retrograde and prograde chemical zonation aside from other chemical reactions. The occurrence of chemically dissimilar phengites show the inefficient chemical transfer between individual micas.
