Seismic reflections from subvertical diabase dikes in an Archean terrane: comment and reply
Article Abstract:
Three-dimensional (3-D) seismic methods need to be employed in crystalline crustal seismic reflection profiling. However, 3-D reconnaissance surveys can be costly in both monetary and environmental terms and require the consideration of non-scientific factors such as road networks. The claim regarding the publication of the first dara set where seismic reflections were clearly correlated with dikes is also refuted, since seismic reflection observations of some of the well-known tholeiitic dikes of northwest UK during the Paleocene period have been made as early as 1969.

An 1161 Ma suture in the Frontenac terrane, Ontario segment of the Grenville orogen: comment and reply
Article Abstract:
The Grenvillian model by Hildebrand and Easton to explain the 1161 Ma suture in the Fontenac terrain in Ontario is refuted. The extent of temporal emplacement of the proposed thrust, and the reinterpretation of the Frontenac geology particularly the dating and positioning of marble in the lower and upper plate are questionable. Hildebrand and Easton rebutted that the contentions of Davidson and Carmichael are weakly constrained.
