European Parliament elections will be held in June 1984. Local issues will color the results. In France, the opposition hopes to defeat the party in power. In West Germany, anti-nuclear forces hope to prevail. Luxembourg is the least predictable. A map shows current members.

Chirac Behind the Veil

The chances of French conservative Simone Veil to be elected for the European Parliament in June 1984 are reviewed. She is quite popular and has united most of the opposition. It would help the French conservatives if she were elected.
