Stakeholder economy? From utility privatisation to new labour
Article Abstract:
The UK Labor Party has taken a more liberal stand on the sharing of economic welfare. Labor Party leader Tony Blair espouses the promotion of workers as stakeholders in industry. However, such an economic philosophy neglects to consider the realities of the present economic framework. Nonetheless, it marks a major step for the Labor Party since it manifests their realization of the presence of labor conflict and the need to develop compromises that would appeal to both capitalists and workers.
