After Airbus
Article Abstract:
The competition for the passenger aircraft market among Airbus, Boeing and McDonnell Douglas is analyzed. McDonnell Douglas has given up plans to build an aircraft which would compete with the Airbus A320, the development of which is being subsidized by several European governments. Airbus is seeking a greater share of the American aircraft market. Boeing has recently developed the 757 and 767 and will depend on its 737 series to compete with the Airbus A320. The A320 may be a success if forecasters are correct.
