An alternative proof of Ben Porath and Gilboa's generalized Gini characterization theorem
Article Abstract:
The fixed-income characterization theorem proposed by Ben Porath and Gilboa for the Generalized Gini equality indices is extended and given an alternative and more robust basis, which is at the same time simpler and shorter that that originally presented by the two authors. The alternative proof is made through a utility function that shows its linearity in the course of the income ranking process.

Unequal uncertainties and uncertain inequalities: An axiomatic approach
Article Abstract:
An axiomatic characterization of social welfare functions for uncertain incomes, and of the weighted average of the minimum and the maximum of ex post and ex ante evaluations, are provided. The results states that a small number of reasonable assumptions regarding welfare orderings under certainty rule out pure ex ante as well as pure ex post evaluations.

Axiomatic characterization of the Gini coefficient and Lorenz curve orderings
Article Abstract:
Research into distributions of income and the ordering of related Lorenz curves is presented. This work is designed to supply an axiomatic basis for Lorenz curve orderings. It is argued that the problem of ranking Lorenz curves can be regarded as the same as the problem of choice under uncertainty.
