An axiomatic approach to "preference for freedom of choice"
Article Abstract:
Selection of an alternative that provides for further possibilities of choices manifests desire for freedom of choice. This flexible approach, which is based on the opportunity aspect of freedom, suggests that selection of a particular alternative is independent of the existing preferences only if the other alternative has the same elements. Moreover, the approach suggests that preference for freedom is basically the same as preference for flexibility.

Equitable opportunities: an axiomatic approach
Article Abstract:
Analysis of the problem of ranking and measuring equitable opportunities shows the advantages of using an axiomatic approach. Such a procedure involves the use of a model that has at least two agents who face a set of opportunities. The use of cardinality and mean differences as measures for comparison of opportunity sets are shown although these come out with rather rough results.

Non-transitive smooth preferences
Article Abstract:
Smooth preferences based on non-transitive assumptions are open subsets of smooth demand functions. As proof, a non-transitive smooth preferences curve is analyzed against such properties as the Weak Axiom. Problems in modeling the non-transitive curve and a presentation of previous research on smooth preferences are discussed.
