An economic model of cohabitation and divorce
Article Abstract:
The direction of causation between cohabitation and divorce rates is examined using a simultaneous equations model. Results show that higher divorce rate and marital instability shift union behavior towards the cohabitation away from marriage. Since cohabitation is short lived and often result in marriage of cohabitational partners or someone else, the probability of future divorce increases as a result of increasing marital instability with cohabitation.

Article Abstract:
The relationship between time costs and advertising and information is examined using a model that categorized products and services as search, experience and credence goods. The model also integrated Yellow Pages advertising to reflect buyer characteristics and goods classification. Information provision in a particular advertising form exhibited a functional relationship with goods specifications and buyer characteristics.

Maintaining the status quo: federal government budget deficits and defensive rent-seeking
Article Abstract:
The hypothesis that defensive rent-seeking behavior augments offensive rent-seeking amidst budget-balancing efforts by the US federal government is tested. The appropriate use of a panel estimator provides evidence in support of the hypothesis. The finding suggests that one of the unintended consequences of the government's deficit-cutting efforts is the expansion of the rent-seeking industry.
