An ordered logit model for the evaluation of Dutch non-life insurance companies
Article Abstract:
An ordered logit model is developed to analyze the financial strength of Dutch non-life insurers. Financial strength is determined by the variables of solvency, profitability, investments and market penetration. Results show that the model accurately predicted the financial solidity of about 90% of the companies considered, specifically, 97% of the strong companies and 84% of the weak companies.
