Anthropology and the new institutionalism
Article Abstract:
Review evidence suggests that anthropologists will tend to use institutional literature in their research. Socio-cultural anthropologists David Guillet, Jean Ensminger and James Acheson already perform research using institutional economic materials. Guillet has acknowledged the disciplinary communications divide that exists between new institutionalists and anthropologists.

Rent seeking, technology commitment, and economic development
Article Abstract:
Economic analysis indicates that rent dissipation has little influence in relation to social cost. A rent-seeking model is introduced to analyze rent dissipation within a monopolistic economy. Evidence suggests that rent-seeking causes the onset of social waste. Mathematical analysis to describe the model is illustrated and explained.
