Antidumping policies in the United States and the European Community
Article Abstract:
Anti-dumping policies of the US and the European Community (EC) have converged since the 1980s as evidenced by their similar structures and time pattern of procedures. This was demonstrated during the Uruguay Round talks when both the US and the EC resisted changes in Article VI of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. The convergence of the US and the EC in their anti-dumping measures is due to the weakening commitment to free trade.

Credibility and disinflation in the European monetary system
Article Abstract:
The Exchange Rate Mechanism of European Monetary System (EMS) showed lack of credibility when the interest differentials of EMS were studied. Lack of credibility was established due to too much emphasis being given on implicit expected rate of devaluation by most of European countries studied. The type of devaluation identified in majority countries analyzed is closely related with inflation differentials like that of the deutschmark.

Estimating the impact of anti-dumping and anti-cartel actions using intervention analysis
Article Abstract:
An intervention analysis was utilized to estimate the effect of anti-dumping actions under a domestic cartel. The analysis was implemented to an anti-dumping action involving the polypropylene production of Japan which was handled by the European Commission. Success in the anti-dumping case has resulted in higher European prices of product involved and depreciation in import volumes of Japan, the country where the action is directed.
