Argentina and the world capital market: saving, investment, and international capital mobility in the twentieth century
Article Abstract:
The origin of government savings and its effects on investment projects has been a widely debated topic in developmental economics. An idea has been proposed contrary to existing literature which suggests that cooperation can ensue as expected benefits from public savings exceed the value of expedient consumption. Elections are also presented as a proctoring device which may stimulate savings by motivating competing groups to be more competitive.
