William Clark, Jr, presented his views on the growing importance of the Asia-Pacific region to the Mid-America Committee in Chicago, IL. In his address, Clark emphasized the challenges facing US policy with regards to the Asia-Pacific. These challenges include opening of trade and investment, resolving past conflicts within the region and improving bilateral relations with countries in the region.

Modelling the crisis in Asia
Article Abstract:
Several studies have aimed to analyze and model the Asian economic crisis. These studies have generated models that give useful information on the cause of the crisis and the sectoral and macroeconomic adjustments resulting from it. These models have also led to the development of alternative policy responses that focus on hot to address concerns related to the crisis within and outside Asia.
