Building competitive advantage on manufacturing resources
Article Abstract:
The concept of a resource-based manufacturing strategy and its usefulness for executives in formulating company strategy are discussed. The relationship between manufacturing resources and competitive advantage is defined to determine features of manufacturing resources that are important from a strategic viewpoint. The different types of competitive advantage to be gained from a resource-based manufacturing strategy are described and a model of manufacturing strategy that capitalizes on a firm's unique assets and capabilities is presented.

A model for the wider application of the turnaroundprocess in the system of an emergency planning network is presented. Cultural changes, communications, configuration, contingency planning, control, cost andsystems, coupling and organizational compexity are the main areas of concern which determines the viability of an organization's strategic management process. All of these elements must be considered at the strategic planning stage to ensure effective crisis management.
