Article Abstract:
A contrast of economic conditions in Poland and Hungary, where economic reforms were introduced in 1968, is given. Achieving political stability is a factor critical to successful economic reform. Western reaction, particularly the lifting of economic sanctions against Poland, is vital to Poland's economic future.
