Swedish economic performance and Swedish economic debate: a view from outside
Article Abstract:
Considerable debate has focused on whether international evidence used to back claims that Swedish growth rate is inferior compared to other countries is appropriate. In assessing relative economic performance, there are several methodological elements that can be used, each leading to different conclusions. These include relevant performance measures, deflators, derivative of the performance measure, relevant time period and exogenous factors.

Investment, output, and interest rate policy when capital is mobile
Article Abstract:
In a long-term open-economy model, coordinated policies on interest rates and inflation result in improved output. This result is due to the fact that interest rates and inflation affect growth and capital mobility, which in turn are critical in maximizing output.
