Cross-country technology adoption: making the theory faces the facts
Article Abstract:
Technology is a important determinant of cross-country variation in income per capita, and a wide range of facts on the differences in the rates of adoption of 25 technologies across 23 of the World's industrialized leading countries, are presented. The cross-country differences in the adoption of technology are focused and the evolution of the average adoption rate is ignored.

Article Abstract:
A racing model with multiple product generations, d spinouts, and licensing, is introduced, and an empirical support is provided by the model's prediction using the data from rigid disk drive industry. It is difficult to forecast the success of new product generation, but if this is possible, then future pay-offs might dominate the short-term concerns.
