Partnerships, corporations, and the Theory of the Firm
Article Abstract:
The industrial sector during the early 1900s may be well characterized by limited partnership activities and restrained multiple proprietorship. However, as the century progressed, the trend towards consolidation became more pronounced as enterprises underscored the liberalization of charter policies. During such period, the nature, scope and number of corporate forms considerably increased, giving rise to partnerships and corporations. Among the crucial issues addressed by companies include ownership, governance and contractual agreements.
