Declining population and sustained economic growth: can they coexist?
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the interrelationship between population decline and sustained economic development reveals that the negative effects of population decline may be avoided through endogenously induced mechanisms. The study also reveals that declining labor supply would prompt business to innovate their personnel management practices so that labor is more efficient. Moreover, the study points out that labor policies could help reverse fertility decline.

Information, marketing, and pricing in the U.S. antiulcer drug market
Article Abstract:
Tagamet, Zantac, Pepcid and Acid are the US top antiulcer prescription drugs. Zantac ranks as the world's best-selling drug, with around $4 billion in international sales for 1994. Marketing information has effectively contributed to the sales growth of these preparations and exhibited decreasing returns to scale. Detailing showed the largest elasticity for market sales, followed by magazine advertising and direct-to-consumer advertising.
