Quality, user cost, forward-looking behavior, and the demand for cars in the UK
Article Abstract:
A noteworthy result of the analysis of the UK car market for both used car rental and new car demand is the adoption of a backward-looking error correction model. The development, coupled with a rejection of the forward-looking rational expectations model, is seen as indicative of a backward buying behavior in terms of car purchases. The results, supportive of the superior goods hypothesis, have vital policy implications in the UK in terms of reducing vehicle emissions.

Pricing policy in the Swedish automobile market
Article Abstract:
The pricing policy of foreign car producers in the Swedish market was analyzed to illustrate the influence of exchange-rate fluctuations on Sweden's consumer price. Utilization of econometric models revealed that changes in exchange rates, costs and quality affected Swedish automobile industry's actual car price adjustments. Market behavior pricing was found to be stronger under Japanese export pricing than for British, Italian and German exports.

Dynamic asset pricing and statistical properties of risk
Article Abstract:
Conditional risk estimators can explain the mutual dependency between an asset return's unconditional and conditional moments. These risk estimates also account for the effect of fourth moments of the asset returns and the impact of the conditional volatility procedure. Risk evaluations are important not only in substantiating the APT but also in validating other traditional theories on asset pricing such as the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM).
