Diversification strategies and corporate coherence evidence from Italian leading firms
Article Abstract:
The determinants of coherence and coherence change are examined using a sample of Italian leading firms during the period 1993-1996. It is observed that, deepening of vertical integration strategies, is good for coherence change while an increase of diversification brings reduction in coherence.

The potential competitive effects of mergers, assessed by the economist at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), are overviewed. The complexity of pricing and distribution of prices across firms, time and other categories of interest are examined for cruise line merger.

Can quality certification lead to stable cartels?
Article Abstract:
Stability of cartels in situations where consumers are not rightly informed about the quality of the products are examined. It is believed that a stable cartel would improve the overall welfare.
