Downsizing and productivity: the case of UK motor vehicle manufacturing 1974-1994

Research into the effect of downsizing on productivity in the British motor vehicle manufacturing industry found firms which were not successful at downsizing employees had a much poorer productivity rate compared to firms which managed their downsizing exercise well.

Costs, Technology and Ownership of Gas Distribution in Italy
Article Abstract:
Research into the ownership and costs of the gas distribution industry in Italy is presented. The analysis suggests that low economies of scale, high economies of density and territorial differences impact on the variable nature of costs.
