Economic geography and the political economy of regionalization: the example of Western Europe
Article Abstract:
Regionalization, which is the establishment of closer economic relations within a region as a result of location, is not the same as regionalism, which is the development of preferential trading arrangements. Regionalization in East Asia, Europe and North America may either replace or complement the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade. The events in Western Europe show how issues related to economic geography and political economy are being added to the criteria for an efficient global economy.

Evaluating undergraduate courses on women in the economy
Article Abstract:
Undergraduate courses on the economic status of women have been criticized as being too interdisciplinary and too 'soft' to be considered a part of the economic curriculum. Most of these courses cover the topics of the division of labor within families according to gender and the differences in the economic status of male and female workers. Courses on women in the economy should be considered rigorous courses. The study of women's experiences reveals the limitations of the economic model.
