Evolutionary and competence-based theories of the firm
Article Abstract:
Theorists increasingly have proposed theories of the corporation firm based on evolutionary models or on models of individual competence. These theories of the firm contrast with neoclassical models based on employer-employee contracts. Competence-based and evolutionary theories offer greater theoretical tools for explaining the role of learning by individuals and groups as well as the role of technology and variety in corporate forms.
