Finite lifetimes and government spending in an endogenous growth model
Article Abstract:
The effect of life expectancy on government spending and taxation is examined using a model that has two channels, which classify expenditure as inputs and costs respectively. The growth rate is sensitive to changes in life expectancy and will improve if governments reduce expenditure for utility enhancing services.

Exponential smoothing with a damped multiplicative trend
Article Abstract:
A new damped multiplicative trend is investigated. Multiplicative trend exponential smoothing, involves modeling the local slope by smoothing successive ratios of the local level, and this leads to a forecast function that is the product of level and growth rate.

Forecasting the New York State economy: the coincident and leading indicators approach
Article Abstract:
The summary indicators of economic and fiscal health for New York State are provided. The results, showed that the changes in the leading indicator series have significant predictive power in forecasting changes in revenue index.
