Forecast accuracy and product differentiation of Japanese institutional forecasters
Article Abstract:
A study examining the consistency in accuracy of some institutional forecasters using real GDP forecast data is presented. The study is based on data over the past 24 years from 53 Japanese institutional forecasters.

The M3-Competition: the need for formal statistical tests

The author suggests that the results of the M3 study should be evaluated using a ranking of success of each of 24 forecasting measures using a test based on average rankings, with analysis of variance.
