Gathering and interpreting strategic intelligence in Asia Pacific
Article Abstract:
International business development relies on the efficient retrieval and dissemination of business information. Business development in Asia Pacific is complicated because of the different laws, inaccuracy of data, the precedence of informal networks and the prevalence of corruption and business favours. The Euro Asia Center of INSEAD conducted a survey of 167 European marketing executives interested in Asia Pacific. Forty-four per cent claimed to be interested in marketing research and planning information, 23% wanted general and political information and only 4% wanted competitor information.

Competitive intelligence: preparing for the information war
Article Abstract:
Companies need to start seeing information as a program for aggressive measures that could be undertaken against them by devious competitors. Aside from viewing information as an advantage that may bring value to an organization, that information must be viewed as a susceptible field that needs protection. Companies should utilize information wisely to develop an information gap between itself and its rivals in order to gain a greater understanding of a competitor's market.
