Gender differences in overeducation: a test of the theory of differential overqualification
Article Abstract:
The validity of the theory of differential overqualification in studies regarding male-female wage inequalities is examined using data from the Panel Study of Income Dynamics conducted in 1985. The theory proposes that wives living in small towns are forced to accept jobs in which they are overqualified. However, results show the absence of a link between population sizes and the number of overqualified female workers.

The State of Development Theory
Article Abstract:
The status of development economics as a separate discipline is questioned. Development economics may seem to be decreasing in importance, but the need for the study of poor countries is still important. Considerable innovative thinking occurred in the 1950s and 1960s. Concentration presently is on income distribution, the labor market, urbanization, and monetary problems.
