Geneva New York's comeback: a classic example of economic renewal
Article Abstract:
The city of Geneva, NY, has successfully implemented a renewal program which has resulted in the turnaround of its dormant economy. The city redeveloped its waterfront into a commercial and industrial zone which was connected to a revitalized downtown. The economic renewal program has attracted Ramada Inn, a relocated Guardian Glass Co, a Sears retail dealership and a renovated Enterprise Development Center. The city is also planning to develop other retail, service and educational prospects.

Huntsville/Madison County, Alabama's Partnership for Economic Development and ADVANTAGE campaign programs demonstrate a new future for economic diversification. Launched by Huntsville's Chamber of Commerce, the programs help realize the county's objective to free itself from federal dependency and create 10,000 new jobs. Existing industry support solicitation and intensive as well as dynamic marketing strategies accompany the programs to entice outside businesses.
