Getting Europe fit for global competition: the leadership and human resources challenges
Article Abstract:
The Hay Management Consultants International Client Conference held in Nov. 1996 in Vienna focused on how Europe can become a successful competitor in the global economy. The main topics during the conference were the pursuit of effective leadership and the implementation of good change management in the rapidly transforming environment. It was pointed out that human resources function should play a more strategic role to enable European organizations to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.

Strategy and control in the multinational corporation: too many recipes
Article Abstract:
Executives of multinational corporations (MNCs) would do well to utilize several standard models used in combination in order to produce a deeper and more holistic perspective of the strategy of a company. The integration-responsiveness structure, which is less effective in designing and enforcing competitive strategies, may be of greater use within a specific MNC for a relative evaluation of strategy among sister subsidiaries.
