How does FDI affect China? Evidence from industries and provinces
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine the effect of foreign direct investment (FDI) on China's economy. The latest panel data from 19 industries and 30 provinces in China was used. The study found out that more FDI does not necessarily imply more output growth across the board. Local industries that have no foreign participation lose, while those that have some participation gain from the inflow.
