Altruism may be sexy. Comment on cultural group selection, coevolutionary processes and large-scale cooperation
Article Abstract:
The model of cultural group selection acting on the large between-group differences generated by conformist transmission is discussed. It was suggested that indiscriminate altruism might have evolved in hominids by group selection if the cost-benefit ratio was less than 1/6.
