IMF programs: who is chosen and what are the effects?
Article Abstract:
A study analyzing the effect of taking international monetary fund (IMF) loans, on economic growth and other variables of the nation, is presented. Loans are larger when, the country taking it has a bigger quota, or has more number of staff at the IMF, or is economically or politically connected to the United States and major European countries.
