Certain factors are important to the success of an organization and the decision maker is told how to identify them. These are key functions that must be performed well for successful operation. They vary somewhat according to industry and are flexible. Examples for specific industries are given. Critical success factor analysis can be an aid in planning strategy. Specific areas for analysis are explored as are considerations for determining the relative importance of each area. There are several tables and charts.

The V-Matrix - A New Tool for Plotting Earnings
Article Abstract:
A firm's strategy should aim at having the greatest possible relationship between its earning power and the cost of capital. There are formulas for the use of the V-Matrix. Five graphs illustrate the application of the technique. It should enable planners to understand their positions compared to those of their competitors and how they have reached their positions. Other considerations in planning are explained.
