Intergenerational transmission of health
Article Abstract:
Differences in income and earnings are likely connected across generations partly due to intergenerational correlations in education and health. The intergenerational correlations in human capital is also related to genetic and non-shared environmental factors. Some societies exhibit favorable treatment to first born children terms of education and health endowments. Male children are always given preferential treatments on health and education benefits. Such results imply that the government needs to impose policies that promote equal opportunity.
