Internal policy developments
Article Abstract:
Passage of the Agenda 2000 reform package and the completion of the final stage of the European Monetary Union created a profound impact on the internal political aspect of member states. These two events not only prompted European countries to adopt measures for coping efficiently with a single currency market, but also compelled them to undertake a series of economic reforms. To some member states, these issues led to the aggravation of internal problems, particularly those involving transportation and telecommunications.

Article Abstract:
The European Union has implemented internal policy changes in 1995. Some of these policies were geared towards curing some of the deficiencies of the Single European Market. Member countries finally allowed the implementation of the Schengen Accord, with an initial number of six full participants. The members also agreed, in principle, on the EUROPOL Convention. However, various issues remain to be tackled before an agreement could be reached.
