Article Abstract:
Saudi Arabia's Supreme Economic Council (SEC) could change the political dynamics of the country's decisionmaking system, according to Kevin Taecker. Taecker, the former chief economist of the Riyadh, Saudi Arabia-based Saudi American Bank and the head of Washington-based consulting firm Enterprise-Saudi Arabia, expressed optimism that the creation of the SEC could signify the country's seriousness in implementing economic reforms. The SEC could also serve to hasten the country's accession to the World Trade Organization.
